GE Profile PTWN6250M / PTWN6250MWT HydroWave Infusor washer
PTWN6250M / PTWN6250MWT: interpret documented display messages
The supplied owner manual describes scrolling messages, not a numbered error-code table. The panel is rotary-electronic and documents “Lid,” “Fill,” “Pause,” “Balancing” and “End.” Use each message as a status clue and avoid applying code lists or reset sequences from newer GE models.
The estimated cycle time is approximate and updates during fill. GE says fill duration depends on household water pressure, which the timer learns and uses to adjust the estimate.
Lid and Pause
“Lid” means an open lid was detected; close the lid for the cycle to proceed. The washer does not fill during automatic sensing when the lid is open, and EcoFill requires the lid closed. “Pause” means the unit is paused; press START to resume. A pause longer than 24 hours cancels the cycle.
Fill and Balancing
“Fill” means the basket is filling; it does not indicate a target depth because Adaptive Fill senses load size. The Infusor can wash effectively without covering the clothes. “Balancing” means an out-of-balance load was detected and spin speed/time are being adjusted. In an extreme case, redistribute the load after the basket stops.
End or unexplained display
“End” means the cycle is complete. If water remains, select Drain & Spin. If an unfamiliar number or symbol appears, the supplied chart does not define it; write it down and contact GE service rather than guessing from another model’s code chart.
No documented fault-code reset
The operation troubleshooting table does give one electronics reset for a washer that will not operate: unplug for two minutes, reconnect, then press START. Only do this with dry, safe plug access. It is not a universal code-clearing sequence. Do not enter service mode, bypass the lid magnet, or use newer-model button combinations.
Status messages are not fault-code numbers
The manual’s message words describe where the washer is in operation. For example, “Fill” can remain while the appliance is taking in water, and the estimate may change because fill time varies with household pressure. “Balancing” specifically means the machine detected imbalance and is adjusting spin speed and time; it does not identify a failed suspension part.
The manual also describes an LED cycle countdown and approximate remaining time. When more than an hour remains, the display may show “1H” followed by remaining minutes; below an hour, it counts down. That presentation is a timer format, not a model error. If a separate number appears, do not map it to a modern GE code table. Record the display and request model-specific support.
Keep a short message log
Write the exact word, cycle, and whether the lid was raised or a pause was pressed. This is especially useful for intermittent “Balancing” and “Fill” displays because both are normal operating statuses with conditions attached. If the washer stops but shows no message, report that too; the chart does not assign a code to every interruption.
Uneven load is being compensated
Wait or redistribute after the basket stops.
Manual does not define it
Record exact display and contact service.
Supply issue may be present
Check faucets and visible hoses, then seek service.
