Field notes · General owner reference
Find the number that identifies your model.
A complete model code helps you avoid a near match with the wrong instructions.
Start with the product label
Look for the manufacturer’s model label and copy the complete model code exactly, including punctuation and the letters after a slash or dot. Use the manufacturer’s label-location guide for your product category. Do not move or dismantle a heavy appliance just to search for a label.
Model and serial are different
The model identifies a product design; the serial identifies an individual unit. Start with the model. Keep your serial private unless the manufacturer or a trusted service provider needs it for a specific warranty or applicability check.
Confirm the details before using a result
Check the brand, category, market, suffix, and revision on the matching record. Watch for 0 and O, 1 and I. If two results look plausible, compare their exact codes instead of choosing by appearance. A base code can lead you to the right family without resolving every production variation.
