GE Profile PTWN6250M / PTWN6250MWT HydroWave Infusor washer
PTWN6250M / PTWN6250MWT: use the accessories actually listed for this washer
The GE Owner Manual names two four-foot supply hoses, and the Installation Instructions name one drain-hose extension kit. Those are concrete references for the PTWN6250M-family documents; the broader product catalog also lists accessories but does not, by itself, establish compatibility or current availability. Confirm the complete model with GE or a parts seller before ordering.
This washer does not include water supply hoses. GE recommends new hoses because they degrade over time and says to replace them every five years.
Supply hoses and setup
The owner manual lists WH41X10207, a four-foot rubber supply hose, and WX14X10005, a four-foot braided supply hose. The installation sheet shows separate hot and cold hoses, rubber washers and strainer screens. It calls for connection to rear fittings marked H and C and says to check for leaks at hose couplings after opening household valves.
Do not assume those four-foot hoses will reach every installation. Measure the route without stretching or sharply bending a hose, then confirm the longer hose part with GE. The accessory list in the product data includes other codes, but the provided owner and installation text does not substantiate each item’s fit or purpose.
Drain extension
The Installation Instructions specifically name GE part WH49X301 if a longer drain hose is required. The instructions say to connect the included additional hose to the original using the clamp supplied in the kit. The washer drain hose must be secured at the rear with its retaining clamp and screws; a loose connection can leak.
The drain standpipe must remain open to the atmosphere. Installation requirements specify a 30-inch minimum discharge height and maximum of eight feet above the washer base. A drain extension does not change the household drain’s required arrangement. Have an installer assess an unusual or long route.
Cleaning products and dispensing accessories
For fabric softener, the quick-reference guide directs owners to the dispenser on top of the Infusor: lift the lid, measure and pour, close it, then select FABRIC SOFTENER with the OPTIONS knob. GE says not to use fabric-softener dispensing balls with this washer because they do not work correctly in HE washers.
The manual describes the bleach funnel for liquid chlorine bleach diluted during fill; do not pour undiluted bleach on clothing or powdered bleach into that funnel. Use only products and locations described by the manual.
Do not equate a catalog list with verified fit
The product record lists related accessory identifiers, including hose codes and other items, but a mere listing is not a full fitment statement. Before buying pedestals, cleaners, adapters or additional kits, ask GE parts support to confirm the part for PTWN6250M or PTWN6250MWT. The appliance is marked obsolete in the record, so stock and compatibility should be checked rather than assumed.
Keep the packaging and verify the received part number before installation. Never adapt a connector or force a hose onto a fitting because dimensions appear close.
When an accessory issue is actually a plumbing issue
A leaking faucet, shutoff valve that will not close, clogged standpipe, or drain height outside the installation limits is not corrected by buying a washer accessory. A plumber or installer may need to correct the home connection. If water is actively leaking, shut off the accessible supply and do not run the washer until the source is addressed.
