PLCD3293A: model-specific checks
Keep the recorded resolution direction
Proscan PLCD3293A lists 768 pixels native vertical resolution. That is the height in pixels. Compare the source device’s output and the display’s supported input timings; the vertical figure alone does not establish horizontal pixels, refresh rate, HDR or an HDMI version.
Compare the exact TV’s panel, resolution, refresh support, inputs, audio features, dimensions, and energy data against the devices you use.

Read display values as separate measures
A TV specification sheet can list screen diagonal, native pixel resolution, refresh capabilities, brightness claims, tuner formats, audio outputs, and input standards. These fields answer different questions. “4K” identifies a resolution class, not the quality of every source; a panel’s maximum refresh claim may depend on input, resolution, or a processing mode. Record the exact model and the condition next to each value. If the manufacturer’s sheet says a feature is available only on selected sizes, confirm that line for the precise size rather than assuming one family specification applies across the range.
Trace a feature to the port
Port counts are not enough to compare TVs. Inspect the rear-panel diagram and the specification footnotes to see which HDMI port supports a named function, which output sends audio, and whether a connection is an input or output. ARC/eARC, USB media, antenna, optical audio, and Ethernet each serve distinct purposes. A cable connector fitting the socket proves only mechanical fit; the connected player, receiver, cable, and TV must support the desired resolution, audio format, copy protection, and return-channel features together.
Check the test basis behind numbers
Manufacturer marketing pages can mix measured specifications with feature names and image-processing language. Separate a panel value such as native resolution from a processing claim such as motion enhancement or dynamic contrast. Compare models using the same source conditions and published units. For energy use, use the model’s regulatory energy label where available, not the back-panel maximum input rating. If data conflict between a manual, product page, and retailer, record the document version and market rather than selecting the higher or newer-sounding number.
Build a decision sheet
For a living-room choice, compare actual screen size, resolution, input capability, sound connection, tuner needs, and dimensions with the room and equipment. For a gaming or computer source, verify the specific port supports the source’s intended mode; do not rely on a family-level “gaming” badge. For an antenna, check the tuner standard for your region. The TV’s specifications do not establish how bright it appears in your room, whether a streaming service is supported indefinitely, or whether a given cable box outputs the listed format. Those require direct checks or separate support evidence.
Preserve a useful setup baseline
When comparing a value, check whether it applies to all inputs or only a named port. A refresh or resolution feature may be limited by the source connection and content. Look for a footnote that states the condition. Do not compare dynamic contrast marketing numbers as if they were measured brightness on the same method. The data sheet can tell you what the manufacturer claims the set supports; an actual source test tells you whether your device chain negotiates that mode. A port diagram can be more useful than a feature checklist when one device must connect to a receiver, console, and antenna. Label each port according to the manufacturer’s diagram before wiring the room.
