E2226Ht: model-specific checks
Use both product and source names
DELL E2226Ht is listed under ENERGY STAR partner Dell Inc.. Search support by the retail brand and full product code. The partner name helps distinguish the certification record from a similarly named product; it is not a declaration of the current warranty provider.
Search official safety notices by monitor model and serial and complete the specified remedy.

Search by the exact monitor identity
Use the CPSC recall database and the manufacturer’s safety-notice page. Search by the full model code and compare the serial range, date range, product photo, and hazard description in the official notice. Do not treat a similar product-family name or an online retailer result as proof that your monitor is included. CPSC recall information and remedy availability can be updated, so note the date you checked.
Check whether a notice refers to computer monitors, baby monitors, signage displays, or another device with “monitor” in its name. The product category matters; the word alone does not establish applicability.
Follow the published remedy and contact path
If the notice matches your model and serial, follow its instructions exactly. The company may ask owners to stop use, request a repair, receive a replacement, or take another step. Do not open the display or attempt an owner fix unless the official notice directs it. Use contact information published by CPSC or the manufacturer, not an unsolicited message.
Keep the notice, case number, serial, and remedy confirmation. Ask whether the monitor must be returned or modified before donation or recycling.
Keep recalls separate from service bulletins
A recall is a formal safety action with a defined product range and remedy. A firmware advisory, service bulletin, or common complaint is not automatically a recall. If a monitor has a fault but there is no matching notice, use ordinary warranty or repair channels. If the monitor is covered by a notice, follow the remedy even if it still appears to function.
Do not claim that a model has no recalls unless you have checked the official source for the exact identity and date. New notices may appear later.
Report a safety incident with records
If a monitor smokes, sparks, overheats, or causes injury, stop using it and contact the manufacturer. CPSC accepts reports of unsafe products through its official reporting process. Preserve photos, purchase information, model and serial, and a factual description of the event. Do not recreate an electrical event to obtain a clearer video.
If there is immediate fire or shock risk, disconnect power only if safe and follow emergency guidance. A report is information for regulators; it does not by itself establish that a recall will be issued.
Match the notice to the physical label
CPSC notices identify products by brand, model, and sometimes manufacturing dates or serial ranges. Use the monitor label rather than a computer inventory nickname. If the label is worn, check purchase records or contact the manufacturer with a photograph of the rear identification plate. Do not share a serial publicly. A model number from an old service invoice may belong to a replaced monitor rather than the unit on the desk.
Read the full notice, including remedy status and any stop-use instruction. If the notice describes a fire or shock risk, follow its immediate direction before testing the monitor again.
Keep proof of remedy and follow-up
When a company repairs, replaces, or refunds an affected display, save the case confirmation and any technician report. Record the replacement model and serial separately. If the original monitor is exchanged, do not sell or recycle it before the company confirms the remedy is complete. Ask whether the replacement is included in the same notice or has new coverage terms.
A recall database search is time-sensitive. Recheck CPSC and the manufacturer when acquiring a used monitor or moving a fleet between locations. An old “no match” note is not a lifetime clearance.
