What is recorded for PFW950SPTDS

GE Profile PFW950SPTDS — Weights Dimensions Overall Width: 28 in; Weights Dimensions Overall Depth: 34 in.

GE Appliances and LG current manufacturer product records

Use these measurements for the first comparison

For GE Profile PFW950SPTDS, start with weights dimensions overall width 28 in, weights dimensions overall height 39.75 in, weights dimensions overall depth 34 in. Preserve those labels when comparing an opening or delivery route. Any handle/hinge allowances, clearances and adjustment ranges that the source does not establish remain additional checks.

4 minute read · Shared guidance for washing machines

List the connection or clearance you need to solve

Start with the physical issue: inlet hoses do not reach, the drain arrangement needs a supported route, a stacking setup is planned, or a floor condition needs attention. Measure the existing connection and available space before shopping. Note where hot and cold shutoffs sit, how far the drain is from the washer, and whether the washer sits beside or beneath another appliance.

Separate required installation components from optional convenience items. A hose, drain restraint, or stacking kit may be required for a particular setup; a pedestal or non-skid pad may be optional or model-limited. The accessory list for one washer family does not establish requirements or fit for another.

Inlet hoses: verify ends, routing, and condition

Check the washer installation instructions for hose type, connection arrangement, and any restrictions. The GE PTWN6250M materials say its washer does not include supply hoses and list particular four-foot hose examples. Those part numbers are examples for that named product context, not a universal hose recommendation. LG’s WM4000H*A manual calls for new hoses when connecting and cautions against reusing old ones; this is specific guidance for that model family.

Choose hose length so the washer can sit in its intended position without tension, sharp bends, crushing, or pinching. Confirm that the hose fittings and seals match both the household faucets and washer inlets. If an accessory advertises automatic shutoff or flood prevention, check the exact washer instructions before purchase: the WM4000H*A manual warns against flood-preventing hoses with auto-shutoff devices because they can interfere with filling.

Drain accessories must fit the route

Trace the drain route from the washer outlet to the standpipe or laundry tub. A longer hose, extension, elbow bracket, antisiphon clip, or tie strap solves a particular routing need, not every drainage symptom. Verify the required drain height, reach, support, and air gap in the exact installation sheet. For the GE PTWN6250M, GE’s PTWN6250M installation guide describes a model-specific drain hose extension kit and an antisiphon clip for a stated low-drain situation. Do not apply those instructions to a different washer without its own confirmation.

Avoid buying an extension just because water remains in the tub. A kink, blocked household drain, insecure hose, or setup outside the installation limits can resemble an appliance fault. The accessory cannot correct an unsuitable drain arrangement if its length or mounting method conflicts with the washer instructions.

Pedestals and stacking equipment

For a front-load setup, check the washer and dryer documentation for approved pedestal or stacking combinations, kit number, stacking order, and clearance. LG lists a pedestal, pedestal washer, and stacking kit as optional accessories for the WM4000H*A family; that listing does not prove compatibility with every LG front loader or dryer. Confirm both appliance model numbers against the accessory application before ordering.

A top-load washer has a lid that must open and load from above, so a raised platform or neighboring appliance can interfere with normal use even if dimensions appear close. For any design, account for door or lid movement, service access, floor support, and the full appliance footprint. Do not use a generic stand or kit solely because its advertised width appears to match.

Check the installed result, not just the package

Before installation, compare each item in the package with the listing and instructions: seals, screens, clamps, brackets, fasteners, and restraints can be small but essential. Confirm the hose length and fitting style, kit number, and which washer or dryer models are named. Keep the package until the accessory has been checked against the documentation.

After installation, use the manufacturer’s owner-safe checks. GE’s PTWN6250M installation sheet calls for opening the water valves and checking hose couplings for leaks; LG’s WM4000H*A instructions also call for checking hose connections. If water appears, shut off the relevant supply and resolve the connection before using the washer. Do not alter a grounded plug, electrical supply, or washer cabinet to make an accessory fit.

Confirm exact appliance models and the accessory’s stated application.
Check the full route and dimensions against the installation instructions.
Inspect connections for leaks using the model’s installation checks before laundering.

What to do with what you find

A hose or bracket listing gives only a generic “universal washer” claim.

Connection style and installation limits remain unverified.

Compare fittings and routing requirements with the exact washer installation instructions.

A stacking or pedestal kit lists only one appliance model.

The paired appliance combination may not be approved.

Verify both model numbers and the kit application before purchase.

Have these details ready

Full washer and paired dryer model designations.
Measurements of faucet, drain, clearances, and hose route.
Accessory or kit number and complete included-parts list.
Relevant installation-sheet limits for that washer.

Common questions

Can I use a kit listed for another washer in the same brand?

Only if the manufacturer’s accessory application or a seller’s exact-model confirmation includes your washer.

Does a longer drain hose fix a washer that will not drain?

Not by itself. Confirm the route and installation limits; an extension does not diagnose a blockage or internal fault.
