Clear i20 only after checking the drain path
Frigidaire defines i20 as a dishwasher that did not drain completely. Its support article lists a specific owner sequence: disposer knockout plug, hose blockage or kink, minimum drain-hose height of 32 inches from the floor, and food soil in filters or sump. That height is the linked support article’s requirement for supported models; the exact installation sheet decides which routing applies to the individual dishwasher.
Do not start by replacing a pump. A kinked hose, debris-filled filter or an unremoved disposer plug can all produce the same drain symptom. Before resetting, inspect the completed cycle and remaining water, then use the filter procedure in the owner manual.
Check the disposer connection and hose
If the dishwasher drains to a food disposer, Frigidaire says to verify that the inlet knockout plug was removed. Inspect the visible drain hose for a kink, pinch or obstruction. Its i20 article states the hose must be at least 32 inches above the floor for the supported models; use the exact installation instructions for your model to confirm the required high loop or connection. Do not present 32 inches as a universal requirement for every installation.
The disposer knockout is a plug left in the disposer inlet at installation. If the dishwasher was recently connected to a disposer, that check is especially relevant; the plug is not in the drain hose itself. Do not remove plumbing connections with water or power on; installation work beyond visible checks belongs with the installer.
Clean the glass trap and filter
Frigidaire directs owners to clear food soils from the glass trap/filter and sump. Its filter guide describes rotating the cylinder fine filter counterclockwise, lifting it out, emptying it, rinsing it under running water and replacing it; the coarse filter can be removed and flushed under running water. Use the model’s Care and Cleaning section if the assembly differs.
Frigidaire’s i20 page sets the hose at a minimum 32 inches from floor for the models supported by that article. Installation guides control the required high loop and actual route for the exact unit. Check whether the hose sagged or was pushed down behind a cabinet, and avoid raising or extending it beyond the manual’s configuration.
Reset only after the obstruction is corrected
Frigidaire’s i20 article lists three reset methods: press/hold Cancel, turn power off at the breaker, or unplug the dishwasher for three minutes. Use only a method permitted by the model manual. A reset clears the current indication; it does not remove a blockage. After restoring power, run one cycle and check whether the unit drains.
The filter guide says the cylinder fine filter turns counterclockwise and lifts out; rinse debris under running water and use a sponge or bottle brush if needed. The coarse filter is also flushed. Reinstall the assembly securely; a filter left displaced can compromise drainage and wash performance.
Stop if the code returns
If i20 returns after the visible hose and filter checks, note whether water remains in the tub, whether the unit begins draining, and whether the hose was recently moved or installed. Frigidaire’s separate no-drain guidance recommends confirming the cycle completed and checking the filter’s installation. Persistent trouble belongs with support; avoid repeated cycles with standing water.
Frigidaire lists Cancel, breaker-off, or unplugging for three minutes as ways to reset this i20 indication. Choose only what the owner guide allows. Once power is restored, observe one complete drain phase. If it fails again, preserve the code and stop resetting; repeated resets do not repair a blocked or misrouted drain path.
